What makes this program different?
TMU Business Management is a direct-entry commerce degree at the Ted Rogers School of Management. Students begin with a common first-year business foundation and select a major after gaining exposure to several fields.
Its location beside Toronto’s business district can make employer events, commuting, part-time work, and city-based networking unusually accessible. The tradeoff is a less traditional residential-campus experience for many students.
Best suited to students who want broad business entry, downtown Toronto access, and the flexibility to choose a specialized Business Management major after first year.
Understand the academic threshold.
The program is grades-only: the standard high-school application does not include a supplementary essay or interview. TMU currently displays a high-70s grade range based on previous admission cycles.
- Ontario diplomaOSSD plus six Grade 12 U or M courses.
- EnglishENG4U or EAE4U preferred, with at least 70%.
- MathematicsOne of MCV4U, MHF4U, or MDM4U with at least 70%; TMU prefers Calculus and Vectors.
- Overall minimumAt least 70% for consideration, while competitive admission can require more.
The displayed range is historical, not a guarantee. Admission depends on the applicant pool and available space. Use the live program page for your intake.
No standard supplementary application.
For regular first-year entry, TMU identifies Business Management as a grades-only program. Admission decisions are based on academic performance.
- No standard essay for regular first-year entry
- No standard video interview
- Prerequisite grades are included in review
- Transfer and direct-entry routes have separate rules
- Prioritize English and mathematics performance
- Keep all six U/M courses competitive
- Review program availability before applying
- Use MyServiceHub for requested documents
Grades-only admission makes the process simpler, but it also leaves less room to offset weaker academics with extracurricular achievements. Build the strongest, most consistent top-six record you can.

Apply and integrate
Complete advanced major work, electives, cases, projects, and career-focused experiences.
Current majors include Economics and Management Science, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Global Management Studies, Health Services Management, Human Resources Management, Law and Business, Marketing Management, and Real Estate Management.
Accounting and Finance is a separate Ted Rogers degree, not a major within Business Management. Students interested primarily in accounting should compare the two programs carefully.
Use the city—and compete for co-op.
Classes are close to employers, transit, events, professional organizations, and many part-time opportunities.
Eligible full-time students can pursue a five-year co-op format with up to 16 months of paid experience.
Students can use coaching, technical bootcamps, employer events, job-search resources, and industry insights.
Cases, competitions, networking, clubs, projects, and entrepreneurship resources extend learning beyond lectures.
Co-op rules vary by entry route and major. Admission is competitive, jobs are not guaranteed, and students must actively participate in applications and interviews.
Turn the degree into a direction.
Outcomes vary widely by major. Potential paths include marketing, human resources, consulting, economics, analytics, compliance, real estate, entrepreneurship, operations, and general management.
The employment figure covers Ted Rogers co-op rather than every Business Management graduate. It should not be read as a guaranteed individual result.
The Business Career Hub supports career development, but students still need strong grades, technical skills, relevant experience, professional communication, and sustained recruiting effort.
Budget the complete experience.
For 2026–27 full-time Business Management, TMU lists an Ontario fee range of approximately $11,883–$11,939, an out-of-province range of $13,080–$13,136, and an international range of $44,476–$44,532.
These ranges can exclude housing, food, books, transit, personal costs, and additional co-op fees. Downtown living can be expensive; commuting may reduce housing costs but adds travel time.
