Overview
EverythingBusiness is a student-focused educational website. We aim to collect as little personal information as reasonably necessary to operate the website and respond to visitors.
This policy applies to the EverythingBusiness website. It does not control the privacy practices of universities, competitions, TikTok, hosting providers, or other external services.
Information that may be handled
Information you provide
If you contact EverythingBusiness by email, we may receive your email address, name, message, and any other information or attachments you choose to include. Please do not send sensitive personal information.
Technical information
When you visit the website, the hosting service and related infrastructure may automatically process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, approximate location derived from an IP address, timestamps, referring pages, and security or error logs.
EverythingBusiness does not currently create visitor profiles or sell personal information.
How information may be used
Information may be used to:
- operate, deliver, maintain, and secure the website;
- respond to questions, correction reports, suggestions, and collaboration inquiries;
- investigate technical problems, misuse, or security concerns;
- improve the clarity, usefulness, and reliability of the website; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not currently use personal information for targeted advertising.
Hosting and service providers
We rely on third-party services to host and deliver the website, provide optional aggregate analytics, protect the site, and handle email communications. These may include the current hosting provider, Cloudflare Web Analytics if enabled, and Google for email. Those providers may process limited information on our behalf or under their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the security and rights of visitors or the website, or as part of a future organizational transfer. We do not sell or rent contact information.
Service providers may process information outside your province or outside Canada, where different privacy laws may apply.
External links
The website links to universities, professional organizations, competitions, TikTok, and other third-party websites. When you follow one of those links, the third party may collect information according to its own privacy policy.
Review the privacy information of an external service before providing personal information, registering for a program, or making a payment.
Students and minors
EverythingBusiness is designed to be useful to students, including some visitors who may be under 18. The website does not currently provide student accounts or intentionally request dates of birth, school records, financial information, home addresses, or other sensitive information from minors.
If you are a minor, consider asking a parent or guardian before sending personal information by email or providing information to an external website. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent us personal information may contact us to request its deletion.
How long information is kept
Email messages and related information are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate records, resolve an issue, protect the website, or meet legal requirements. Technical logs are generally controlled and retained by the relevant hosting or infrastructure provider according to its policies.
Information that is no longer reasonably needed may be deleted or anonymized.
Your privacy choices
Depending on applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access, correction, or deletion. You may also withdraw consent for future uses based on consent, subject to legal or operational requirements.
Because we collect very little information directly, we may need enough detail to locate the relevant email or record and reasonably confirm the request.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the website and the limited information involved. However, no website, hosting platform, or method of email transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Do not send passwords, government identification numbers, financial account details, health information, or other highly sensitive information through the contact email.
